PDSC Club Person of the Year Award - 2020/21

Published Sun 06 Jun 2021

This award is presented to a non-committee volunteer chosen by the Commodore for their efforts for the past season.

Below is Commodore Clayton Erwin's Citation
This is a very hard award to give out, as everybody is a volunteer at the Perth Dinghy Sailing Club. So, finding that one person who does that little extra is difficult. It would be one of the toughest jobs in being the Commodore.

At the Perth Dinghy Sailing Club, you are either born into the club, or your married into the club and then there are those who join the club then become a part of the PDSC family.

On this occasion, this person has married into the club. This person keeps us all hydrated and fridges full so we can tell all about our sailing for the day.

Then this person comes down to the club during the week to meet our suppliers, so these fridges are full and ready for the Saturday night.

They then do a long Saturday setting up and are here late into the night – generally one of the last to leave.

To add they then come down on a Sunday to help the club make a bit of money and then takes all the recycling to the Cash for Cans centre.

This person does it all with no fanfare or fuss.

I would like to congratulate that the Club Peron of the Year for 2021 is Ryan Baker.
